A jewel of a display home at Söenhaus resembles Philip Johnson’s iconic Glass House.
The Jewel Box appears as a Platonic structure in the landscape, an integral aspect of Söenhaus’s aesthetic conception. Inside the Jewel Box is a 2 BR display home.
The dominance of a single, geometric form in a wild setting, with complete exclusion of extraneous elements usually associated with habitation, reinforces our statement about the potential of a building to express “living” in its simplest essence.
If the built form at Söenhaus is our presence, then the interior space is accommodation.
The interiors of Söenhaus are curated by our Design Studio to encourage a sense of calm and comfort. The space is bathed in natural light and opens to expansive views of the mountains, fostering a contemplative atmosphere. The Studio further enhanced this feeling through the use of natural materials throughout the interior.
Each material selection within the Jewel Box was strategically chosen by the Design Studio. The complementary soft colors of the stone, with the neutral lower cabinets and nickel accents add a touch of sophistication. Warmth is introduced through oak flooring, upper cabinets and ceilings in western Canadian hemlock.
This timeless palette allows the natural beauty of the stone and wood to take center stage, ensuring the home will age gracefully.
